The
International Feed Resources Unit was formed at the Rowett Research Institute
in 1991. It evolved from the former Applied Nutrition Department of the
Rowett Institute. In June 2000 the unit moved to the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute.
Its remit remains to conduct basic nutritional science research
geared toward the needs of ruminant industry both in the UK and abroad.
The unit has actively engaged in overseas rural development
through advice to international and national agencies. The unit also provides
