One of the major roles of IFRU is to provide a high standard of training to post-graduate student in animal nutrition and related areas. This is achieved through a link between the Macaulay Institute, University of Aberdeen and other Universities overseas.
IFRU takes PhD students under various schemes, e.g.. full PhD programme in Aberdeen, split programme and overseas program. This is to ensure that both training and research project are adequate to each candidate and that knowledge acquired during the PhD programme is relevant to each student's home country reality.
MSc students who wish to come and work with us will be officially registered at the Department of Agriculture, University of Aberdeen, where they will take various courses. Research will then be carried out at IFRU under the supervision of one of our staff members.
IFRU collaborates with SAC Aberdeen in providing flexible training in
Laboratory technology from part of their 1 year LTDM Masters programme
covering Radio immunoassay (RIA), (NIR) spectroscopy & microbiology,
focused on feeds.
