Land Allocation Decision Support System (LADSS)
What is LADSS ?
LADSS (Land Allocation Decision Support System) is a computer based rural land use planning tool being developed within the Land Use Systems Programme of the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute.
What does LADSS do ?
- Supports strategic, farm-scale, land use planning by suggesting possible combinations of land uses to meet multiple-objectives
- Provides a framework within which the financial, social and environmental consequences of changes in land use may be evaluated.
- Demonstrates an approach to the integrating of spatial data and analysis methods with land use systems models
- Acts as a channel for technology transfer from land use scientists to land managers and facilitates the inclusion of practitioner knowledge into models of land use systems.
