Red squirrel picOur research investigates how, at a range of scales, species, habitats and ecosystems function.

We consider how biodiversity changes in response to external pressures such as climate change or human impact through deliberate or accidental actions.

We also investigate how changes in biodiversity and collections of species, some of which may be unique to particular locations, can be managed.

Our research programme aims to provide an evidence base for the Scottish Biodiversity Strategy and its associated implementation plans.
