The way in which we utilise the land is important in terms of the
bio-diversity it may support.
It is also important in helping us to understand and identify different
pressures related to its sustainable use.
There are a number of methods by which data
on land cover have been collected.
The results shown here are from the land
cover of Scotland (LCS88) in 1988 survey with the executive summary available as a 4MB pdf..
