HOST Class 7
- Geology:
- mid terrace alluvial deposits.
- Landforms:
- gently undulating mid terraces away from the river in the lowlands or, as in many Highland glens, on outwash alluvial fans of coarse textured sand and gravel deposits.
- Soils:
- immature free and imperfectly drained, coarse textured alluvial soils (wetness class I-Ill).
- Flow:
- these soils are underlain by a fluctuating groundwater table generally within two metres.
